Drupal for Change: building an open framework for activists

Campbell Vertesi 17 August 2010
Type:  BOF session

Non-profit and activist organizations are some of the biggest adopters of Drupal. The integration with CiviCRMand the plethora of tools available for Drupal 6 offer a lot of potential for the platform. We are leading a re-write of the Drupal Activism module, geared towards Drupal 7 - and a lot more openness. Let's talk about what activist organizations really need, what systems they use, and how we can make Drupal 7 the best platform out there for non-profits of all stripes.

We are planning the next generation of Activism functionality for Drupal 7, integrating CiviCRM with functionality that many non-profits could really use. Letters to legislators, online petitions, "tell a friend" campaigns, and more. We are building this as an open framework, that anyone can extend to add more functionality, different CRM systems, and other advanced features.
