Working faster and smarter: Using Aegir and features to manage your sites

This talk will give an overview of using install profiles, aegir and features to manage multiple websites with similar (or identical) requirements. Drupal multisite has been around for years, but upgrading and managing sites in batches can still be a lot of work. These techniques will come in handy even if you have only a single site and want to improve the dev -> production workflow (i.e., no longer making changes in a live environment).
Features helps to separate the configuration changes from the database (think moving changes to content types or views from dev -> staging -> production in an automated way) and allows site admins to more easily handle site updates. Aegir makes it possible to upgrade 10s, 100s or even 1000s of sites with a single button. The talk is targetted towards site builders with little to no experience using features or aegir and people who are interested in putting the two projects together to make their lives a little easier.
This presentation is based off of techniques used for our own project wedful.com (a hosted service based on our own drupal distribution). We're using these techniques to allow us to generate new sites on the fly and make updates across the board with limited hassle.
