Add a video channel to your Drupal site

Martin Joergensen 25 May 2010
Type:  Not planned session

This session will show you how to create a fully integrated video channel with Drupal using CCK, Emfield and Views.

Video is immensely popular on the web, and you can easily add a video channel to any Drupal (and even non-Drupal) site using facilities already developed for Drupal.

This simple video system can handle almost any type of video including your own or other people's clips from Youtube, Vimeo, Google and more than a dozen other providers as well as locally or remotely hosted video files in a number of formats.

Self employed developer and consultant. Have been doing Drupal for about 5 years, but have been doing consulting for longer than I care to admit. Visited my first web page in 1993 or so and made my own first site in 1994 - it still exists BTW!

I used to be a freelance IT journalist and in the heydays of printed magazines I was the editor-in-chief of PC World Denmark, MacWorld Denmark and a few other magazines. That ended abruptly when the dot-com bubble burst! I haven't looked back.

Idea Sex: speed networking your ideas across the Drupal community

Kieran Lal 24 May 2010
Type:  Not planned session

This session aims to accelerate Drupal's collective intelligence by having a panel of Drupal uber networkers connect session attendees and their ideas to other members of the community. Session attendees will be given 60 seconds to pitch their idea. Our group of expert Drupal networkers will then Google, search, discuss, and brainstorm with who and where the presented idea should be transmitted.

The effectiveness of the Drupal project is often attributed to the power of the community. Economists refer to this capacity for solving problem as collective intelligence. Most of this collective intelligence is developed over the Internet through twitter, IRC, Forums, mailing lists, issue queues. This session aims to accelerate that process by having a panel of Drupal uber networkers connect people and their ideas to other members of the community.
