too many slanty things

30 July 2010

Okay we get it, you're doing CSS3.

But the slanty page title text is actually painful to look at.

for what it's worth

I like the slanty stuff :-) Realise it is not for everyone but it's fun and a conference website for a techy community like this is the right place to try it stuff like this.

Im sorry in the future ill

Im sorry in the future ill remember to let the theme (& design) be in garland, and make sure the fonts will be set in Timers & Arial

Hope you accept my apology

I like the new theme. It

I like the new theme. It reminds me of being in an IKEA.

okay thanks for the sarcasm,

okay thanks for the sarcasm, but when I say

is actually painful to look at

I actually MEAN it. It's damn unpleasant.

There is such as thing as taking design too far.

I think that

I think that -moz-transform:rotate(-0.5deg); is the new tag.

Sorry I have to agree with Joachim.

ok so for anyone else who,

30. July 2010 - 23:04

ok so for anyone else who, likes me, feels their eyes go all funny and a migraine coming on when they have to read slanty text, or for anyone who's just finding it looks silly, stick this in your Firefox userContent.css:

@-moz-document domain(cph2010.drupal.org) {
* {
-moz-transform:rotate(0) !important;
}
}

And to the designers: when something starts to become LESS usable, you've gone too far. And fix the layout bugs before you play with your CSS3, perhaps?

oh looks CSS3

oh looks CSS3

Some bits of it work and some bits don't.

1. August 2010 - 18:35

Some bits of it work and some bits don't. I think it's novel for a Drupalcon site to take this iterative approach, and I like it. I like the fact that the site's evolving, and I'd hope that where CSS3 has gone too far, the site will evolve it away eventually. Right?

Although... maybe after a while I do have to work out which bits are rotated and which aren't, and my head goes a bit like this dog's: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/07/dog.html

I was surprised the optical

3. August 2010 - 13:09

I was surprised the optical illusion is so strong. After looking at the pages with the images and text slanted, I go back to a "normal" page and they look slanted! It's amazing how resistant the mind is.
