NodeStream - A Drupal distribution for newspapers

NodeStream is a new Drupal distribution aimed at modern newspaper sites with focus on flexible publishing.

This session will highlight some technical and architectual challenges developers are facing when building modern newspaper sites and how we solved them in NodeStream using the big four - Panels, Views, CCK and Rules. This session will also cover the integration between NodeStream and Newspilot, an editorial publishing system used by the majority of all daily newspapers in Scandinavia. The integration is built on top of the Services and Deploy modules. Finally we will talk about how we chosen to package NodeStream with the Features module, Drush Make and a custom install profile.

Nutch, Apache Solr and Views and its business applications

Because I didn't get to goto Drupalcon SF to presesnt in person I though the European Drupalist would care to hear a revisted version of the speech

Nutch is an open web crawler that lets you do fine grained or Internet wide web crawling. In this session I will introduce you to the Drupal Nutch module, which will help with the setup and control of your crawls. We will combine this with some of the new features in the Apache Solr, Views 3 and Apache Solr views to create hybrid search engine vertical that interleaves your content with supporting web content.

Drupal Commerce: Setting up Shop on Drupal 7

Drupal Commerce is the next generation e-commerce module suite for Drupal 7. The project is a re-implementation of Ubercart's core feature set on Drupal 7 using the best new core Drupal features and depending on the strongest Drupal contributions. This session will introduce the basics of Drupal Commerce, demonstrate the evolution of features from Ubercart to Drupal Commerce, and explain the key differences you should keep in mind as you migrate old sites or start from scratch on Drupal 7.
